Cosplay Competition Voting

Hello fellow fanatics. The cosplay competition is officially closed for submission. Each submission is below. Please look at them and even research the characters so as to get a better idea. If you want to see a larger version of the entries click the thumbnails.

Members can vote for the top three in the comments of this journal based on the following criteria:
      Voting Name-
      Cosplay title (If there is more than 1 entry by a member)-
      Accuracy (how much is resembles the character)-
      Completeness (a whole character)-
      Embodiment (it is just an image of the cosplay, but I would love to see the cosplayer not only look like the character, but feel like the character, embody the character's posture and attitude)-
     Costume (quality of the clothes)-
     Props (quality and usage of the props)-
     Stylization (this is the wow factor which can come in a number of ways such as going big, extreme accuracy, adding unique spins, ect.)-

      What do they win? Well everyone who submitted a cosplay into the competition will have their work seen and appreciated in the voting journal. This will bring more attention to it, comments, favorites, and watchers. I wish I had points to give out, but unfortunately I do not. I'm sorry. On my profile there is a points donation spot and all of those would be used for future competition prizes and for bettering the group if you decided to donate.
      1st place winner will receive a llama, a feature in a journal, they will be featured as a featured artist in a section on the homepage of the group (a potentially permanent spot for winners of competitions), and I personally will become a watcher of the person. This may not seem like much, I'm sorry, but this is just a fun thing to bring more attention to cosplay in the group and spark conversation.

The entries:

    My deviant ID name is ATildeProduction. The title of the deviation I submitted is "They Don't Like It When You Shoot At Them...", which is part of a quote said by the character I am cosplaying. I submitted the deviation in to the FOX folder.
    The character I am cosplaying is Captain Malcolm Reynolds from the show Firefly and the sequel movie Serenity. During the Unification War, Mal was a Browncoat fighting for the Independents against the Alliance.
After the war, Mal acquires an old 03-K64 Firefly-class transport ship and names it Serenity (After Serenity Valley), and with his crew, takes whatever job he can get (within moral reason) to survive while hiding from the Alliance.
    I've wanted to cosplay Mal ever since I got bitten by the cosplay bug and became a fan of Firefly. And while I've done a lot of cosplays over the years, this one is by far my favorite. I worked on it on and off for about a year (for a while I didn't have much money to focus on cosplaying). It's not completely done, as Mal often sports his trusted Brown Duster Coat, but that will be a project for another time.

    Costume info: I went thrift store hunting for a dress shirt and dress pants matching the one hannibal wears in the season 2 finale, "mizumono". Once that was successful, I went ahead and pulled up a few pictures of the blood on his shirt and tried to match it up the best I could. As for the wig, it required some trimming and then I also went in with a sharpie and started going over sections with it, to make the wig look dirty blonde. As for make-up, I stared at mads mikkelsen's face in different lighting to understand his facial structure and then once I felt I had a good basic understanding, I went ahead and started practicing with contouring, a lot. Along with that, I actually conceal my eyebrows using the glue stick method to appear as though I have no eyebrows. After, I go in and contour below my brow bone to get my desired look.

    Character description - Carrie is a character from a Stephen king novel featured in two or three films. She is a teenage girl sheltered by her hyperchristian mother. She gets bullied at school. She was invited to prom by a popular boy and voted prom queen and the popular crowd poured pigs blood on her. She is telekinetic and kills everyone. Horrible description, but I'm assuming people know the character.
    Process- For Halloween I bought a second hand dress and dumped fake blood all over myself to look like Carrie in the prom scene. My friends and I then went to see the remake of Carrie.

    Hello! As promised, I'm entering the cosplay contest! I'm Emma (ZombiesAteMyHomework) and I just submitted the two deviations that I want to enter, they're in the gaming folder. They are "On the Surface" and "Mechromancer"
    Okay, the first character is Big Sister from BioShock 2. The Big Sisters are one of the main bosses of the game (although there are multiple of them), and the generic ones honestly don't have too much of a character to speak of. However, they are protectors. This is the most ambitious cosplay I've ever attempted, and I wanted to make it because it presented such a big challenge and it's so detailed. It took me about 3-4 months to make, and I tried to be as accurate as possible to make up for having such a different body type from the character (they're tall and gangly, I'm short and curvy). It has working LEDs in the helmet and the ADAM bottle on the arm and a speaker that plays the Big Sister's scream. It's a bit of a hassle to wear (takes about 20 minutes to do up all the buckles) but I love it!
    The second costume is Gaige from the game Borderlands 2. She's my favorite character design from the game; she's witty and energetic and she has the power to summon a giant robot to help her fight, which is pretty cool. I love the style of the game and so I knew I wanted to do a cosplay from it, and I love Gaige's costume! It took me about 2-3 months to complete. It was all either made completely from scratch or very heavily modified by me. I painted and cel shaded everything with acrylic paint and marker. My favorite part is the wig, which I made out of Model Magic on top of a plaster cast of my head. As for Claptrap, he's made primarily of foam core, and he is completely collapsible. He also talks and can be rolled around fairly easily. There are LEDs in his antenna and eye, as well as in the shield on my belt.

    Cosplay character: Mr. Clever from the Doctor Who episode " Nightmare in Silver', written by Neil Gaiman.
    The Cybermen tried to upgrade the Doctor, but weren't able to take over his mind completely. What they ended up with was Mr. Clever, a snarky, sarcastic, emotional, volatile new Cyberplanner. Matt Smith's best performance, in my opinion.
    I had tried cosplaying for years, and hated it. Could never found a character that I felt comfortable doing. Nightmare in Silver was the perfect episode for me - it was written by Neil Gaiman, whom I ADORE, it had an amusement park, Warwick Davis, Cybermen, Cybermites, chess, and then Mr. Clever came on the screen and I was like, “That! That will be my cosplay!” Just such an amazing performance by Matt, such a fun, snarky, over the top, twirling, jumping, insane character. Perfect! And I'm very self conscious so I also thought it would be great to hide behind the cybernetics on my face if the con crowds got too much.
    I had such a hard time making the hand pulse because there aren’t a lot of things out there on Nightmare in Silver to begin with. I had two pictures to work from, other than screen shots, and it’s on screen for only a few seconds each time. But it’s super fun to have. It does light up and does buzz. The Cyber Planner was seriously one of the hardest things I’ve ever constructed due to my extensive allergies. I’m allergic to latex, silicon, gold, copper, rubber and urethanes, sculpy, super sculpy etc etc so it is made out of my own concoction and it is paper thing and VERY fragile. It breaks almost every time I wear it. My last con, it broke while I was putting it ON, so it was super glued to my face all day. This is my third one.

    Hello! I'm submitting my Buffy the Vampire Slayer cheerleader cosplay. I've been a fan of the television series from the beginning (when i was 7 years old) and have continued to live in the buffyverse through the comics. I own every issue from S8- current season 10.
    A little bit of the costume. I purchased the sweater and skirt off ebay and altered them both. I added the yellow and white trim to the skirt and hand painted the school logo on my sweater. I made the pom poms from scratch, but had to hand paint the red to match the maroonish shade of the Sunnydale high color scheme.
    I applied the vampire forehead prosthetic myself, its actually from the tv series. My roommate was gifted the mold from an artist that worked on the series. He used this forehead pieces for the background vampires, so its a once size fits all deal. She let me pull from it (latex). I had to hand sclupt additional pieces to it with latex on my face to make it a perfect fit.
    I'm not cosplaying a specific character from the series. Its a "What if" i was in that universe, what would i look like?. I figured i'd be a cheerleader, since they got the most action in the series (vampire attacks wise), also the uniform is very recognizable to fans of the series and i also love the look of it.
